Norman North Timberwolves Football Preview – Presented By Landers Auto Group

JUSTIN JONES

7-4

OFFENSE

With seven returning starters on the offensive side of the ball, Norman North head coach Justin Jones should be optimistic about his Timberwolves. Norman North will base out of a spread look and is capable of winning games on the ground and through the air. Running back Chapman McKown (5-7, 170, Sr.) might be on the smaller side but he has blazing speed. The two-sport star had 1,317 yards and 12 touchdowns on 176 carries last season. The OU commit is also a threat in the passing game, catching 15 passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns last season. Kam Sixkiller (6-4, 187, Sr.) takes over the quarterback position after seeing limited action last season. Sixkiller will have several targets to throw to including Cason Cabbiness (6-1, 175, Sr.) and Brayden Dorney (6-0, 180, Sr.). Those two combined for over 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns on 81 catches last season. Tight ends Cole Warren (6-2, 190, Sr.) and Duante Moses (6-1, 235, Jr.) are two more bigger bodies that the Norman North coaches hope to see more production from this season. Bryce Christian (6-3, 265, Sr.) and Harrison Utley (6-4, 290, Jr.) will anchor the offensive line for the Timberwolves this season.

DEFENSE

Norman North has four starters returning to the defense that will use multiple 3-4 looks this season. Defensive end Parker Andrews (6-4, 250, Sr.) will lead the Norman North defense up front. Andrews registered 68 tackles and five and half tackles for loss last season. Joining Andrews up front will be defensive end Isaac Morgan (6-0, 250, Jr.). Morgan tallied 18 tackles and three tackles for loss as a sophomore. At Linebacker, Austin Vincent (6-1, 210, Sr.) is back for his final season after registering 43 tackles and an interception last season. Lane Painter (5-11, 185, Sr.) and Carver Rogers (6-0, 175, Jr.) will also look to make an impact from their linebacker spots. In the secondary, Mason Pace (6-2, 175, Sr.) leads an experienced group of DBs. Pace had 90 tackles, one tackle for loss, two pass breakups, and an interception last season. Elias Battle (5-11, 170, Jr.) and Owen Flowers (5-9, 170, Jr.) both return to the defensive backfield after combining for 24 tackles and three pass breakups last season.
