Norman North’s Katie Kolar selected Miss Volleyball Oklahoma – Presented by Shelter Insurance

Norman North High School’s Katie Kolar is the 2022 Shelter Insurance Miss Volleyball Oklahoma award winner. Kolar is a four-year starter at Norman North and a record setter for the Lady Timberwolves. This year Kolar recorded incredible numbers with 325 kills, 256 digs, 485 assists, 40 blocks and 43 aces. Kolar surpassed the 1,000 career assists mark and set a Norman North program record with 25 kills per match. For her career Kolar finished with 1003.5 points and 776 kills. 

In 2022 she was named the COAC Offensive Player of the Year. Other honors include:

Owasso All-Tournament Team 

Broken Arrow All-Tournament Team

Mustang All-Tournament Team

Class 6A State All-Tournament Team

AVCA All-American Honorable Mention

AVCA All-Region Team

OCA Large West All-State Team (2023)

Kolar has committed to play volleyball for West Virginia University next year. 

Kolar joins previous Miss Volleyball Oklahoma winners, Jaxie Wakley of Victory Christian (2019), Audrey Buford of Bishop Kelley (2020), and Nina LaValley of Carl Albert (2021). 

Other finalists for the 2022 Miss Volleyball Oklahoma award included Emily Boyer (Carl Albert), Hailee Alexander (Broken Arrow), Olivia Vance (Bixby), Morgan Borgstadt (Verdigris), Landrey Hill (Cascia Hall), Grace Smallwood (Bishop McGuinness), Madelyn Onan (Edmond Memorial), Ella Carter (Oklahoma Christian), Jessica Shildt (Bishop Kelley), and Jessica Kaste (Lincoln Christian).
