Kinley Kite
Norman North Cross Country
Senior Kinley Kite has enjoyed a great season on the Norman North cross country team. Kite grew up playing soccer and joined the cross country team to help with her running endurance.
“Growing up I played soccer and never enjoyed running but my freshman year I joined cross country to help me get in shape for soccer and I absolutely loved it. Definitely wasn’t my favorite sport though,” said Kite. “My favorite part of the team is 100 percent my friends. My best friends are on the team, and they make the sport so much more enjoyable. Definitely the best part of being on the team is spending time with them.”
Kite is the student body president on the student council, Christian’s on Campus, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Kite said being a student-athlete at Norman North is special.
“Norman North is such a great place to be because of the recourses we have to be successful. We have a great coaching staff and wonderful facilities to use. The teachers are also understanding and help us when we miss class for a meet,” said Kite. “The thing I love most about Norman North cross country is all of the memories we’ve made together and how much fun we have every time we’re with each other.”
In the classroom, Kite said her favorite subject is math.
“My favorite subject in school is math. I just love when there is a clear answer to an issue. My favorite teachers are both of my student council advisors. Student council is my favorite part of the day, and the advisors are amazing,” said Kite.
When the school year comes to an end, Kite said she is considering exercise science or elementary education as a course of study.
As for the Class of 2024?
“I want to be remembered as an encouraging, uplifting and a leader to everyone. I want to love others and help others see Jesus through my actions,” said Kite.
