VYPE: Noah, thanks for taking a quick break. Tell me what grade are you in and how long have you played baseball?
Flanagan: I’m a senior and I’ve played baseball my whole life.
VYPE: That’s a long time. So, the big question is…who is the best player in the MLB?
Flanagan: The best player in the MLB right now has to be Shohei Ohtani. There may never be anyone like him again.
VYPE: I like that. Great player. What about your teammates at NHS? What makes them great?
Flanagan: I love my teammates competitiveness, the brotherhood I share with them, and our shared goal of being the best team/program/player we can be.
VYPE: What about the Norman community?
Flanagan: I love the atmosphere that students bring to the games. The support they give us is what makes being a student athlete so worth it.
VYPE: Has there been a moment this season or any other that really stands out?
Flanagan: My favorite memories competing for Norman High are the spring break trips we took to San Marcos.
VYPE: Everyone at NHS loves the Sam Marcos trips. What would you like to do after you graduate?
Flanagan: After I graduate, I plan to attend Trinity University in San Antonio to play baseball.
VYPE: Knowing you’re heading off to college, what area of your game did you want to improve this season at the prep level?
Flanagan: This season my pitching has improved the most, in terms of velocity, consistency, and control.
VYPE: Where do you think the team improved the most?
Flanagan: How improved we are as a team, and the true shot we have at earning a spot in the state tournament.
VYPE: When you’re not on the field, what can we find you doing?
Flanagan: In my free time, I enjoy fishing, hiking, hanging out with teammates off the field, and watching sports.
BONUS QUESTION!
VYPE: Do you belong to any clubs or groups at school?
Flanagan: I’m a member of Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society) and National Honor Society.
