Norman’s Ady Hybl Athlete Spotlight Presented by Kerri McCloud Farmers Insurance

Ady Hybl began playing basketball in the backyard with her dad who is a coach. “I
would like to take on coaching when I’m older. I love how hard he works for everything and how he balances family and work life,” she said.

A sophomore at Norman High School, Ady plays basketball and runs track. “I am super passionate about my sport because it’s been my safe space since I was little. I love playing basketball and it always makes my day.

“I am a huge Steph Curry fan. I love how he is a little guard just like me and how he was not always looked at. He had to work extremely hard for where he is now and I really respect that,” she said.

Ady says her teammates are her biggest hype men. “They are always there for me on my good days and my bad days no matter the circumstances.” Club teammate, Sadie Linn particularly pushes Ady to be better. “She works for me and with me. She does everything in her power to make us have a good time,” says Ady.

Coach Yves gets a shout-out from Ady. “He has helped me and my game grow
tremendously. He always knows exactly what to say when I need it and he trusts in me and believes in me more than I could ask for,” she said.

Beating Bixby in the area championship game is her best memory. “Our team came
together strong and we had the most hype bench I’ve ever seen. Our energy was
amazing and I will never forget the goosebumps I felt when the coaches ran into the locker room and we all cheered and poured the water all over Coach Frankie.”

“Your words matter,” says Ady, “if I believe in my work and believe that I’ve got control of situations it will all work out. It’s Gods plan and not mine. So there’s no need to speak negative upon situations, we have to be positive and look for the best in all things.”
