Norman’s Dax Noles – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Sun & Ski Sports

By Payton Moody

Meet Dax Noles, a senior safety at Norman High School, who has distinguished himself through his commitment and aptitude on the football field. As a versatile and tenacious player, Noles has left a mark on the defensive side of the game. His impressive statistics speak volumes about his abilities and commitment to the sport.

Throughout his football journey, Noles’ admiration for Coach Kitchell, his current safeties coach, has grown immensely. “Coach Kitchell has made such a big impact on me on and off the field,” he said. “He has taught me so much in life and has been super helpful these past few years!”

On the field, Noles draws strength and support from his teammates, highlighting the strong bond of brotherhood within the team. “I admire and feel supported by all my teammates,” he said. “For me, brotherhood is a big thing for football, and I have lots of teammates that I can call a brother.”

During the off-season, Noles focused on rigorous preparation to elevate his game. “I’ve mainly just focused on lifting and getting bigger but also on lots of footwork, staying light on my toes and moving quick but still being big,” Noles said.

Football, for Noles, extends beyond the field, offering valuable life lessons. “Football has taught me lots of good life lessons, but the big thing it’s taught me is to never give up,” he said.

With the new season ahead, Noles has set personal and team goals. “Individually, my goals for this season are to just make it better than the last,” he said. “I have to make sure I improve every year and beat my own goals.”

The matchup against Norman North holds special significance for Noles, as it marks the start of the season and promises an intense rivalry game. “I’m excited to get back to the game, and it’s a huge rivalry game, so I’m really excited to play against them!” Noles said.

Beyond high school, Noles envisions continuing his football career. His love for the game and determination to excel make it clear that his passion for football will carry him to new heights in the future.
