Norman’s Dax Noles – Baseball Spotlight – Presented by Providence Custom Homes

Dax Noles

Norman High School

There are certain athletes that come along and leave an impression on the program they serve. Norman High School has certainly had their fair share of those athletes over the years. Dax Noles has added his name to the list as a two-sport athlete for the Tigers. A football and baseball player, Noles is thankful for the community support and his teammates over the years.

“I love the community and being part of Norman High is so special because of all the friendships I share in the community,” said Noles.

Noles will take his talents to the University of Oklahoma for football next year, staying in his hometown. There is a chance he could be drafted by a team in Major League Baseball this summer. If drafted, Noles will need to make a big decision.

“Having the opportunity for both is so amazing but I would prefer draft just because it’s been my dream since I was a little boy and to play for the Sooners,” said Noles.

The shortstop is focused on making the most of every play and every at-bat in his final year of prep baseball. Noles said his teammates have fun and make the season special.

“I love the way we all connect and know how to have fun. They truly make me enjoy the game of baseball every day. All 1-9 are some dogs. We all want to win bad and show every day we want it. We’re good. We’re a scrappy team that finds ways to win. We’re going to shock a lot of people this year,” said Noles.

Coming into the season, Noles was known for his athleticism, but he continues to work to improve his game and give the Tigers a three-tool player.

“My power in hitting is what I’ve been working on. I have been hitting balls a lot firmer this year,” said Noles.

Noles said he finds inspiration from professionals in baseball and football.

“Deion sanders relates to me very well. Just how determined he is in both football and baseball and has to change modes in each sport. There are a lot of great, talented players in the MLB. One player I watch all the time is Aaron Judge,” said Noles.

Away from sports, Noles said he enjoys hanging out with friends and lifting weights. Noles is involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and National Honor Society.
