In her various endeavors, Norman High School junior Elle Robertson seeks guidance in her faith.

“I’m very blessed and have not dealt with anything that caused me major setbacks,” the NHS pom squad member said, “but there are some bumps in the road. A great way I always overcome it is through my faith. I try to think about the problem and how I can fix it and pray about it. God is good and helps resolve my issues.”

Robertson juggles pom, school, friendships, a part-time job and Tigerpalooza — “which is our annual philanthropy for our school, and we choose a local non-profit,” Robertson said. “I try to maintain my calender, and time management is key.”

Robertson has danced most of her life. If pom came natural to anybody, it was Elle.

“I got into pom my freshman year of high school, and I have been dancing since about 3 years old, and growing up, I would always look at the pom girls and think one day, I want to be like them,” Robertson said. “[My parents] put me in as many classes and help push me to be the best I could be. . . I think I would say competing is one of my favorite parts. I love Friday night lights and basketball. Both are fun, and I love getting to be with my team.”

Robertson followed the example of her older brother, Quinn, now a golfer at Oklahoma Christian University, in joining Tigerpalooza.

“My brother was in it all 4 years, and so I watched him and looked up to him doing it and always wanted to,” Robertson said. “Philanthropy is important to me because I feel like it helps me help others and bring light into others’ lives.”

After high school, Robertson wants to attend the University of Florida “to pursue something with business and or orthodontistry.”

“I also hope to help a lot of people along the way,” Robertson said.
