Trace Redwine

Norman High School

Senior baseball player Trace Redwine started playing baseball when he was in the 1st grade. Redwine is part of a group hoping to make the state tournament this season and give the Tiger fans something to be excited about during baseball season. The team returns four of their top hitters, which is an area of his game Redwine continues to improve.

“My most improved area in baseball this season is discipline at the plate when I’m hitting.,” said Redwine.

The first baseman and left-handed pitcher is known for his work ethic and being a great teammate.

“I love how my teammates always find a way to make me laugh and they help keep the challenging game of baseball fun and entertaining. The thing I love most about being an NHS student-athlete is the incredible support I receive from all of my teachers and classmates,” said Redwine. “This team is built on grit and the determination to out hustle our opponents. We are looking to have a competitive season where we show others what the Norman Tigers are made of.”

At school, it’s more than just baseball for the senior. He is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Spanish National Honor Society, National Honor Society, and the Indian Ed Program. However, he does have his favorites.

“My favorite subject in school this year is Biology, and my favorite teacher is Dr. Frenette,” said Redwine.

Next fall, Redwine has plans to attend college and pursue a degree.

“After graduation, I hope to attend Oklahoma State University and study to eventually become a large animal veterinarian,” said Redwine.

As for who Redwine believes is the best player in Major League Baseball today?
“The best MLB player is Freddie Freeman because he is a consistently successful hitter and has been a reliable first baseman for every team he has played on.”
