VYPE: How’s this football season going for you? We see you lighting up the state book
every week.
Devin Alexander: This season is going better than I could’ve ever hoped.
VYPE: How have you performed better than expected? And why do you think you’re
playing at a high level?
DA: So I take most of the work when it comes to running the ball, and it’s my first year I’m the
full starter for the team. So I knew I was gonna have to step up for the team. The reason I’m
playing at a high level is because I have been practicing hard every day and the trust my
coaches and teammates have in me.
VYPE: How does it feel now that it’s “your time?”
DA: It feels amazing, the opportunity I was given and the trust the team put in me.
VYPE: You had a pretty big game a couple weeks ago.
DA: Yeah, it all started after I had almost scored a kick return. After that, I just felt loose and
with great blocking from the guys up front, they got me past the first level and I did the rest.
VYPE: I assume you want to play college ball, right?
DA: Yes, I do wish to keep playing at the next level.
VYPE: How long have you wanted to be a college football player?
DA: Since I’ve been in elementary school.
VYPE: Why is this season important for you to reach that goal?
DA: Because it’s my last year of high school, so I’m really trying to show everyone what I can do
and prove to coaches that I’m a good player to take a chance on.
VYPE: What are some schools you’ve had conversations with so far?
DA: I got an offer from ECU and have been talking to OBU.
VYPE: What are you looking for in a school?
DA: Somewhere I’m wanted.
