Norman basketball player Trashaun Combs Pierce spoke to VYPE in an interview.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goals for this year is to make it to state and win. Be defensive player of the year.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Playing regionals vs our rival school and beating them to go to area.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
I would say last years seniors Matthew Willenborg or Caison Cole, because when I was in a
slump with my actions on and off the court. They were two people I went to when I needed to
talk or they helped me be better.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
The brotherhood we have. We are all connected and together and love being around eachother
and having fun.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
I do not participate in any community service projects.
VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
I’m not in any clubs or campus groups.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
It teaches me when times get hard to keep going and never give up.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
The best advice I’ve gotten is from one of my assistant coaches when I was in a slump in game
they told me to stay calm and keep playing hard and good things will come.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
My parents inspire me, because they were both high level athletes and they know what it takes
to get to where i wanna go and they push me past my limits.
