Alyssa Schuerch

Southmoore High School

VYPE: Alyssa, what grade are you in and how long have you played soccer?

Schuerch: I am a senior, and I have been playing soccer for 12 years now.

VYPE: What do you love most about being a student-athlete at Southmoore HS?

Schuerch: What I love most about being a student-athlete here is the friendships I’ve gotten to make over the years.

VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates?
Schuerch: I love how we can call come together and laugh when it’s time to but get things done on the field as well. It’s a great group of girls, everyone is so fun and talented.

VYPE: How is the team looking for this season?
Schuerch: This team is looking great this season! We all have been working hard to find a system that works, and we definitely have the talent and grit to make it far this season!

VYPE: What part of your game have you worked to improve, and what position do you play?
Schuerch: I have worked on my tactical IQ and all of the basics this year. I’m really working to improve my long balls at the moment. I’ve been moved quite a lot this year position wise, trying to figure out what works best for the team; originally, I was playing left fullback, but now, for this season, I’ll be playing center back.

VYPE: Do you belong to any clubs or groups at school?
Schuerch: I am in yearbook and BPA at Southmoore High School.

VYPE: What’s your favorite subject in school and do you have a favorite teacher?
Schuerch: My favorite subject in school has always been art, and my favorite art teacher is Mrs. Huggan, the 2D art teacher.

VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?
Schuerch: After graduation I am going to school for exercise science to help young athletes when they get hurt or improve their performance.

VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Schuerch: In my free time, I enjoy going to church, hanging out with friends, drawing, and watching crime documentaries.
