Head coach – Lorenzo Williams
2021: 2-8
A young and turnover prone Jaguar squad slumped to a 1-9 finish in 2021. Head coach Lorenzo Williams feels last year’s weakness can become a strength. As many as 12 different sophomores and one freshman started at one time or another. Jake Blice (5-10, 170, Jr.) took over as the starting quarterback during the middle of the season and finished on a high note. He will be well protected behind a large and healthy offensive line. Carlos Pardo (6-4, 285, Jr.), James Williams (6-3, 320, Jr.) and Colby Armstrong (6-3, 300, Sr.) return to starting positions across the line. The Jaguars are very strong at tight end with Zane Zielny (6-4, 220, Jr.) and Vidal Ortiz (6-4, 200, So.) adding versatility to the offense. Zielny is a proven pass catching threat and isn’t afraid to challenge bigger defenders. Wide receiver Xavier Simpkins (5-11, 165, Sr.) is a three-year starter with game changing speed. Simpkins was part of the Jaguars lightning fast 4×100 meter and 4×200 meter relay teams. Terry Simmons Jr. (5-6, 165, So.) is another young player with a promising future at running back.
