CROSSINGS CHRISTIAN KNIGHTS

Coach: JACOB STEPHENSON

8-3

OFFENSE

Coach Jacob Stephenson enters his first season at the helm of the Knights football program after the team went 8-3 a year ago. Stephenson and assistant coaches Jeremy Kilewer, Eric Lane, Ben Patterson, Travis Wike, and Preston Richardson have big expectations for the team this season. Four returning starters are back on offense including Luke Olson (6-0, 175, Sr.) who is the Swiss Army knife of the bunch. Olson can carry the ball, be effective in the passing game and help on special teams. Cole Taylor (6-3, 240, Sr.) and Will Sutton (6-0, 220, Sr.) will anchor an offensive line that could feature some fresh faces. Both Taylor and Sutton are experienced in the trenches. Nate Rouse (6-0, 170, Sr.) will quarterback the Knights this season and look to get Jonah Neher (6-0, 200, Jr.) involved in the run game. The balanced attack you will see from the Knights allows the coaching staff to utilize players like Olson and Neher in multiple ways.

DEFENSE

Olson is a two-way starter and will play in the secondary giving the Knights a solid pass defender and someone not afraid to step up and stop the run. Evan Crotts (5-11, 170, Sr.) joins Olson in the secondary and will bring speed and the ability to spot the ball to the squad. Bennett Bell (5-11, 180, Jr.) is a downhill linebacker every coach wants on their roster. Bell works well through traffic and has the size to take on larger running backs. The defensive line features Benton McKim (6-0, 185, Sr.) who is quick off the line and will cause problems for larger, slower offensive linemen. Look for McKim to be a disruptor this season. Sophomore linebacker Holden Manchester is another player this defense will depend on for big players. Manchester will also see time on offense at running back.
