SW Covenant’s Tucker Croy – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Oklahoma Educators Credit Union

By Derrick Smith

Tucker Croy is a student-athlete at Southwest Covenant School. As an athlete, he knows he has to work hard in order to compete at the highest level. And beyond high school, Croy has aspirations to compete at the collegiate level. He has put in the work, but he is also thankful that he has been surrounded by great coaches.

“My goal is to be a college athlete and I’m working hard to make that happen,” he said. “I couldn’t have asked for better coaches throughout my high school athletic career. They have not only helped me in the sports aspect but have developed a special connection with me. Coach Cobbs, coach Moseley, and all of the other coaches will leave a positive impact on my life.”

As a senior, Tucker runs track and plays basketball for the Patriots. He and his teammates will play whoever is on the schedule, but Croy has one team that he enjoys playing the most.

“The opponent I like beating the most comes from my senior season in basketball,” he said. “I really enjoyed beating Oklahoma Christian Academy. They were a really good team the past season and we have a long history of having tough games against them. We first beat them on senior night which felt really good. We also ended up beating them in the postseason as well. In track, I enjoy beating schools that are in a higher class than us. It’s always a good feeling to represent class A and prove that we are just as good of athletes as bigger classes.”

There have been many outstanding memories that Tucker has made throughout his sports career. But out of all of them, he has one that stands out as his favorite.

“I would have to say that the highlight of my sports career has to be making it to state in track,” he said. “I had never been to state before in any of my sports, but in my junior year I was able to make it in all four of my events in track. It felt like a huge accomplishment just to be able to be at the state meet. I am hoping to make it back to state this year and bring home a gold medal.”
