Community Christian’s Elle Canty – Soccer Spotlight – Presented by Vision Bank

By Payton Moody
Elle Canty is an incredible soccer athlete from right here in the OKC metro. As a junior at Community Christian School (CCS), Elle’s journey from the local fields to Division I offers is nothing short of extraordinary.

For Elle, soccer isn’t just a sport; it’s a passion deeply ingrained within her. “Whatever I do, I want to do it to the best of my ability,” she said, reflecting on her internal drive to excel both on and off the field. This
commitment to excellence is nurtured by her parents, Cathy and Geoff Canty, who instilled in her the values of hard work and perseverance.

Among her mentors stands Jeff Cox, a teacher whose unwavering support has been pivotal in Elle’s life.

“Constant support, sharing positive thoughts… Jeff Cox really stands out,” she acknowledged, grateful for the encouragement that has enabled her to excel in her soccer pursuits.

Success in soccer, Elle believes, requires a winning mindset and an unyielding love for the game. “If you love it, you will do whatever it takes to be successful,” she asserted.

Her accolades speak for themselves – from reaching the Elite Eight in the Champions League to earning national recognition by making the Texas All-Conference First Team, among other honors, Elle’s journey is marked by triumphs and milestones. But perhaps her most significant moment came when she received over 30 calls from Division I soccer coaches, ultimately choosing to stay close to home and play for the Oklahoma Sooners.

Yet, Elle’s journey extends beyond the field. As a member of the National Honor Society and an active participant in volunteer work, she epitomizes the ideal student-athlete.

Looking ahead, Elle’s aspirations are ambitious yet grounded. She plans to study biology at the University of Oklahoma before attending medical school, a testament to her multifaceted talents and unwavering
determination.

Representing CCS and her hometown of Norman holds profound meaning for Elle, who sees it as an honor and a privilege. “CCS has been an amazing school, and representing them is an honor,” she said, embracing her role as a hometown hero with humility and pride.

With her eyes set on Division I glory and beyond, Elle Canty is poised to leave her mark on the world of soccer – both on and off the field.
