EDITOR’S CHOICE

These are the top seven players in the Edmond area hub, ranked by VYPE editors regardless of position.

#1 Talyn Shettron – WR – Senior – Edmond Santa Fe

At 6-foot-4 and over 190-pounds, Talyn Shettron is one of the biggest receivers in the class. He has speed to go with his tremendous size and is as athletic as they come.

#2 Jacob Sexton – OL – Senior – Deer Creek

Sexton (6-6, 305, Sr.) is everything you want from an offensive lineman. He is tough, athletic, strong and understands the game. Sexton will play on Saturday next fall.

#3 Tabry Shettron – TE – Senior – Edmond Santa Fe

Tabry (6-4, 215) could easily be No.1 or No.2 on this list. His athleticism and freakish talent made him a hot commodity this offseason. The OSU commit is expected to have a big year.

#4 Antone Prince – RB – Junior – Oklahoma Christian Academy

Only a junior, Prince (6-0, 180) rushed for more than 1,000 yards last season as a sophomore. His potential is off the charts, and he should have a memorable season in 2021.

#5 Jacob Varnell – LB – Senior – Edmond Memorial

Varnell (6-0, 205, Sr.) is built from the old school mold of linebackers who are known for big hits and big plays. He is relentless and does not understand the meaning of quit.

#6 Scott Pfieffer – QB – Senior – Edmond Santa Fe Wolves

The top quarterback in the Edmond area and one of the top QBs in the state, Pfieffer (6-4, 185) is a leader on and off the field. His goal this season, to return to the title game and win.

#7 Collin Matteson – WR – Senior – Oklahoma Christian School

If you want a fun player to watch then check out Collin Matteson (6-0, 175) at OCS. This wide out runs great routes, blocks, and makes tough receptions look easy.
