Grayson McGuire – Community Christian School – Presented by RibCrib

by Trina Walker
Grayson McGuire learned from playing football that it takes hard work and
perseverance to push a person through things that need to be done. Even when it is
something you do not want to do.
As a junior at Community Christian School, Grayson’s work ethic shows on and off the
field. “Fear is overrated, just keep moving.” This advice keeps him motivated.
He is inspired by his grandpa.“My grandpa was born with dyslexia but managed to
persevere and become a teacher as well as a college athlete and artist,” said Grayson.

His dad and grandpa were also both basketball coaches. This early exposure to
competitive athletics is where he first began his love of sports.
Grayson also plays baseball but his passion is football. “I’m a very competitive person
that hates to lose and I love the physicality of football.” However, his favorite part of the
game are the relationships with his friends. “My teammates are some of my closest
friends in the world,” he says.
His favorite memory is being on the team with his older brother. “He was always able to
motivate me to be the best, along with supporting me while playing at a high level
himself,”says Grayson.
Grayson, is proud to represent his faith as a Community Christian student athlete. He
says it is important “that we are just the best team and as well as people on and off the
field.”
Many have had a positive impact on Grayson. “First and foremost I thank my Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ for allowing me to even be here, Mom and Dad for supporting me
through everything, my brothers for pushing me to be better and making me tougher, my
teammates and coaches for giving the friendship I need in life and helping give me
motivation to strive toward a state championship.”
