Heritage Hall’s Jack Harris – “Talk of the Tailgate” presented by Taco Bueno

The “Talk of the Tailgate” at Heritage Hall is Jack Harris, a junior football player for the Chargers.

Head coach Brett Bogert said Harris is everything you want in a team player.

“Jack moved from free safety as a freshman to starting right tackle as a sophomore. He always puts the team first no matter what. He is a great teammate and represents our team the right way in the schoolhouse and in the community. He will be a starter on both the offensive and defensive lines this year. He is a great kid that loves everything about football, even the summer workouts,” said coach Bogert.

A tackle football player since the seventh grade, Harris said being part of the Chargers football team is special for many reasons.

“My favorite thing about the team is the locker room after wins,” said Harris. “I love the great atmosphere and playing with my teammates. Heritage Hall is more like a family than a school. You really know everyone.”

Harris said his favorite moment came last season during the semifinals.

“My favorite moment in game was probably my sophomore year in the semifinals when Gavin Freeman scored at the end,” said Harris.

After the game, Harris said the locker room is always a fun place. From ringing the bell to celebrating together, the Chargers always have fun. Harris said he plans to play at the collegiate level as a long snapper and earn a business degree while continuing to play the sport he loves.
