Turner McPherson
Midwest City High School
If you have seen the movie Money Ball, then you know there is a lot that goes into making a baseball team work. You also know that playing first base is extremely difficult. That’s where you will find Midwest City High School’s Turner McPherson.
Playing for the Bombers and representing Midwest City High School are sources of pride for McPherson.
“The things I love most about being a student-athlete at Midwest City High School are my teammates, coaches, and being able to represent my school playing the sport that I love,” said McPherson.
Now a junior, McPherson has played baseball since the age of six, but he continues to work on his game to ensure he is the best player he can be for his teammates.
“This season my offense has improved the most for me. I think it’s the strength of my game,” said McPherson.
Talking about his teammates and their contributions rather than talking about himself is what McPherson prefers to do.
“The things I love most about my teammates is that they’re very hard working and are very selfless and will do anything to help or better the team. I think you should have an eye on all of our seniors like Bryan Williams Jr., Stephen Lewellyn, Devin Sissons, Kenneth Colston, and Tory Ware. Underclassmen you should also be looking at is James Washburn and Terrance Rideau,” said McPherson.
After high school, McPherson would like to attend college, but for now McPherson is focused on helping his team win.
“After high school I plan on going to college and hopefully I will also have a chance to play baseball too. I think that our team this year will be very good. Every single one of us players have improved since last year,” said McPherson.
In his free time McPherson likes to train for baseball and workout. The first baseman said the best player in the MLB right now is Ronald Acuña Jr.
