Norman extended its winning streak against Edmond Memorial to three. The Tigers hold an all-time 20-16 advantage over the Bulldogs dating back to 1972.

The Tigers will be looking to end a nine game losing streak to Jenks on October 8th. Norman’s only win against the Trojans came in the 1992 Class 6A semifinals.

OFFENSE

The Tigers, under head coach Rocky Martin, are looking to get back to enjoying the success the program is used to and with eight returning starters back on offense, Tiger football appears to be on its way back. Leading the way is the big man upfront, Viliami Makahununiu (6-4, 295, Sr.). A VYPE Top 100 selectee and a preseason All-VYPE player, Makahununiu has several schools taking notice of his play on the offensive line at tackle. Quarterback Tias McClarty (5-10, 165, Jr.) loves having the big man up front. He also loves being a dual-threat QB. Last season McClarty threw for 953 yards and 10 touchdowns, while rushing for 1,125 yards on 147 carries and 12 touchdowns. Edric Lambert (6-1, 200, Sr.) will handle some of the load at H-back as well. Last season Lambert accounted for 318 yards on 29 receptions. Cooper Alexander (6-4, 205, So.) will get the nod at tight end with Max Bass (5-10, 180, Sr.) starting at wide receiver. Cayde Spencer (6-2, 245, Jr.) joins Makahununiu on the offensive line.

DEFENSE

The returning leading tackler for the Tigers is Ethan Medina (5-10, 205, Sr.) at linebacker. Medina recorded 96 tackles, one sack and three tackles for loss. Medina is joined at linebacker by Seth Wishon (6-2, 210, Sr.) who made 93 tackles with three tackles for loss. This pair of difference makers will bring a level of intensity the Tiger defense will feed on this season. Luke Morrow (5-11, 175, Sr.) is a very productive corner accounting for 40 tackles, seven pass breakups and three interceptions. Andre McCoy (5-10, 165, Sr.) is a fast outside linebacker who put up some amazing numbers last year. McCoy had 82 tackles with two sacks, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Xavier Mason (6-1, 235, Sr.) is a machine at defensive end. Mason grabbed 59 tackles with three tackles for loss and seven QB pressures. Also look for Treynton Byington (5-10, 275, Sr.) at nose guard. Byington had 20 tackles last season and is ready to challenge offensive lines in 2021.
