OKC Area Players to Watch, Unsung Heros, and Underclassmen to Watch – Presented By Rib Crib

Players to Watch

Baseball

Jack Hodge – Bethany

Should start in center field and hit in the top of the lineup. He has signed with Northern Oklahoma College-Enid.

Ethan Rone – Choctaw

He is a returning three year starter at infield, catcher and pitcher. Rone has committed to Eastern Junior College.

Alex Morgan – Harrah

Alex was one of the team’s top pitchers last year. He was a Monday and Tuesday starter on the mound for district games. He has signed to play at Southwest Christian University.

Braden Browning – Luther

Braden is a four year starter. He’s been a captain for the past two seasons. Braden led his team to a regional tournament appearance last year for the first time since 2011. He batted leadoff and played shortstop when he wasn’t on the mound. Braden has one offer to Southwestern Christian University.

DeAngelo Irvin Jr – Midwest City

DeAngelo Irvin Jr is entering his junior year for the Bombers. He is an excellent player with high character. As a sophomore, he hit .422 (Batting Average), .539 OBP, 1.261 (OPS), .722 SLG. 

Boys Soccer

Dax Jaggers – Bethany

Team captain as sophomore and Junior. He is unselfish and his IQ allows him to be used wherever he is needed.

Tommy Yousey – Choctaw

Tommy is an athletic, tenacious junior forward who plays with an attitude. The tenacious attitude he brings to soccer he also brings to the classroom and to his relationships with peers and adults. 

Isaiah Wences – Christian Heritage

Isaiah is an outstanding athlete who is a tremendous teammate. The skill he brings to the field makes CHA a better team.

Matt Jolliff – Crossings Christian

Jolliff is an athletic player, strong defender, and a physical presence for our defense.

Eli Cervantes – Mount St. Mary

Eli has superior soccer IQ and understands all the positions and formations. He is like a coach on the field. 

Girls Soccer

Brae Baker – Bethany

A great attacking player with a team high 22 goals as a sophomore, she can play every position on the field, often drawing double teams in most games.

Annabelle Bean – Christian Heritage

Tough physical player that wins every ball in the air. Dominant scorer with 20 goals and 20 assists last season.

Camden Furnish – Crossings Christian

She is an outstanding teammate and scorer and also serves as team captain. Furnis is also an academic champion.

Ashlanne Fuentes – Mount St. Mary

Ashlanne is a terrific midfielder with a very high soccer IQ. She is a leader on and off the field. 

Underclassmen to Watch

Baseball

Gavin Finley – Bethany

A great young man with a lot of potential for a solid future.

Drake Fittro – Choctaw

Drake has worked hard and is ready to have a bigger impact this season. 

Hunter Cantrell – Harrah

Cantrell is a tough guy and he loves the game of baseball.

AJ Henke – Luther

Whether it is at a game or in practice, Henke works hard and always gives it his all.

Bryan Williams Jr – Midwest City

The Bombers are looking for bigger things from Williams this season.

Boys Soccer

Ethan Easter – Bethany

He always shows up ready to work and be his best. 

Jaxon Hughes – Choctaw

Hughes is a great athlete and an outstanding teammate. 

Gage Wilson – Christian Heritage

Wilson is a talented athlete that will get better as he continues to work. 

Kaden Laisle – Crossings Christian

Kaden loves to play soccer and that is reflected everytime he plays. 

Girls Soccer

Kayten Donley – Bethany

She is a hard worker and an outstanding team player.

Hope White – Christian Heritage

Hope is a talented player that always plays hard when she hits the field.

Madison Jolliff – Crossings Christian

Jolliff excels on the field and in the classroom and at anything she sets her mind to.

Michaela Carney – Mount St. Mary

No matter what is going on, Michaela is always ready to work and get better.

Unsung Heros 

Baseball

Drew McCutchen – Bethany

A player that does whatever is asked of him and is always ready to help the team.

Jessie Tisdel – Choctaw

While Jessie is a solid teammate, a lot of what he does will not show up in the stats.

Riley Morgan – Harrah

Riley gives one hundred and ten percent at both practice and once the game starts. 

Owen Wilson – Luther

Wilson is an excellent ballplayer and teammate, who works hard to be his best. 

Kylon Thompson – Midwest City

Kylon is a great kid that works hard and will do anything for anyone, especially his teammates. 

Boys Soccer

Jocelyn Malaska – Bethany

An outstanding kid that is always ready to help teammates.

Eduardo Alvarez – Choctaw

Eduardo has put in a lot of work and dedicated a lot of time to get where he is today.

Nate Jines – Christian Heritage

He is one of those kids that does the dirty work that no one else wants to do.

Jackson Ledlow – Crossings Christian

Whether it is in a game or at practice, Ledlow always gives maximum effort.

Ben Keupen – Mount St. Mary

Keupen is one of those kids that is not afraid of hard work.

Girls Soccer

Katelyn Hoefar – Bethany

Katelyn is a great kid that always wants her teammates to succeed.

Katie Campbell – Christian Heritage

She is a winner on the field and in the classroom

Megan Channel – Crossings Christian

Channel works hard every day and never gives up.

Kimberly Mendoza – Mount St. Mary

Quitting is not in Mendoza’s vocabulary, terrific kid and teammate.
