9 Qs with McLoud baseball player Jaden King – Presented by Magnolia Clinic

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Jaden: My favorite teacher is Justin Ellis, my seventh-grade history teacher. It didn’t matter what we were learning, but he always had a story about something to do with the subject. It was super easy to get him off-topic. He knew a lot about sports and is to this day still one of my favorite teachers of all time.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?

Jaden: I take pride in representing McLoud because I know that when I leave I can proudly say I’ve given it all I had.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Jaden: My dream vacation would be with my family and we’d go to Hawaii.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Jaden: My father inspires me the most because he has given most of his time to help me practice and play baseball when I was little. As I got older my dad had to miss some of our games because he was at work, out of town. My dad sacrifices a lot to take care of our family. For that, I’m forever grateful.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Jaden: I am passionate about baseball because leading a team and having a bond with my teammates and coaches is something that is very special to me. I love competing and striving to be better for myself and my teammates. I hope one day all of my hard work pays off.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Jaden: Duke Crossley inspired me the most because when I was in eighth grade, he was a senior. He’d always give me hitting tips and that would help me take my swing to the next level. He was always willing to help and watch me swing.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Jaden: Baseball has taught me that you’re gonna fail, but it’s all about how you respond when you fail. You have to work hard for everything in your life.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Jaden: I would like to thank my parents for all the sacrifices they have made to get me to practice and games and all the money spent on uniforms and tournaments. I’d also like to thank my dad for my work ethic without it I wouldn’t be where I am today.

VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?

Jaden: My dad taught me how to catch and to play baseball at two or three years old and I’ve been in love with the game ever since.
