BOYS
Coach: Jeff Edmondson
20-21 Record: 21-5
The Dale Pirates may be the youngest squad to take the court in Class 2A this season as head coach Jeff Edmondson takes the court with a healthy crop of underclassmen and a duo of seniors. “We are very inexperienced and will likely start two sophomores and three freshmen,” said coach Edmondson. Dayton Forsythe (6-2, So.) had a huge freshman campaign averaging 19 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest. Forsythe can do it all from shooting the three to getting to the rim. He may be the best player in Class 2A.
Deken Jones (6-0, So.) averaged 7.0 points and 2.0 rebounds a game last season and will join Forsythe in the backcourt. Jett Higdon (6-2, Fr.) looks to make an impact at forward while Levi Kelly (5-8, Fr.) is another guard coach Edmondson is expecting to play some quality minutes for the Pirates this season. Easton Edmondson (5-8, Fr.) is another underclassman looking to crack the starting lineup. A pair of seniors in Chris Kinnamon (6-1) and Steven Jackson (6-1) will look to contribute as well as sophomore guard Ethan Douglas (5-10) and junior guard JB Lever (6-2).
