BOYS
Coach: Tim Boyer
20-21 Record: 9-7
The Redskins return two starters from a year ago, but several key players with experience also return for head coach Tim Boyer. “We are looking forward to continuing to build on our success and culture with this year’s team,” said Boyer. “McLoud had their first winning season in 17 years and won district for the first time in 16 years. We have a core group of juniors who will be entering their third year of playing varsity basketball. We are excited to see how much they have grown and to see who else will step up within the program.” Luke Norwood (6-2, Jr.) averaged 9.0 points with 5.0 rebounds a game last year. Norwood could lead this team in scoring this season. Jacob Jordan (5-10, Jr.) returns as the leading scorer from a year ago averaging 10 points a game.
Jordan is a sharpshooter and should have similar or better numbers this season. Luke Jordan (5-10, Jr.) came off the bench as a sophomore, but is now looking to fill a starter spot. Luke is the twin brother of Jacob. Tryce Lewis (6-3, Jr.) is a big presence in the post and could be a double-digit rebounder this season. Coby Cardin (5-10, Jr.) is an excellent perimeter defender while Clint Campbell (6-2, Jr.) will come in and provide the team with quality minutes this season. Also look for Jett Henson (6-1, Jr.) at guard or forward and Dorrian Matlock (6-1, So.) at guard. Matlock is very skilled offensively and is one player coach Boyer is excited to see develop.
