New Lima’s Alloni Harge – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By The Clinic Pharmacy

By Derrick Smith

There are moments in any athlete’s career that they can look back on with great memories and see what was accomplished. It could be a personal milestone or a team victory, but either way, it was the moment that the work had paid off. Alloni Harge’s biggest moment so far would be a playoff victory.

“My highlight moment would have to be when my team and I were in the area round of the basketball tournament,” she said. “We were losing but we worked together as a team and we ended up winning the game by five points.”

Alloni attends New Lima High School where she is in her senior year. She is a member of two athletic teams for the Falconettes. She plays point guard on the basketball court, while on the softball field, she can play either catcher or in the outfield. Away from athletics, she is a member of the student council and the Native American Club. She is ranked sixth in her class with a 3.48 GPA.

Harge has had people throughout her lifetime that have helped her become the person that she is today and the person that she will become in the future.
“My sisters are the biggest role models in my life,” she said. “They showed me that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. Also, my brothers because they have taught me to work hard on everything I do. Mr. Brown is my favorite teacher at New Lima. He has taught me that in life not everything you do is something you will want to do, but some things you will have to do in order to excel in the next thing.”

Alloni has worked hard to get to where she is both as an athlete and as a student. She knows that while it may be tough at times, it will be worth it.

“It has taken me everything I have to accomplish where I am right now,” she said. “Hard work, dedication, and determination have all been key for both athletic and academic success.”
