Tecumseh’s Kadyn Prado-Football Spotlight-Presented by Natalie Arnett, State Farm

Kadyn Prado – Tecumseh High School

There can be a lot of influences on the life of a high school student. Whether it is a celebrity, professional athlete, or someone a little closer to home, the impact they have on the students life can help shape them into the person they become. Kadyn Prado knows that it is important to have positive influences and he knows he has some great ones.

“My dad is my biggest influence and he is my role model,” he said. “He has always pushed me to be the best version of myself no matter what. I want to be just half as successful as him one day. Also, my teacher, Mrs. Lewis, taught me valuable lessons at a time when I didn’t want any help or advice. She still pushed me and taught me things that I needed to know.”

Kadyn is a senior at Tecumseh High School, where he plays fullback and defensive end on the Savages’ football team. Becoming the athlete that he and a contributor to the team did not just happen overnight.

“It takes a lot to become a successful athlete,” he said. “There is the struggle, the pain, and  the commitment. But you also build a brotherhood and team chemistry that helps when you are on the field.”

Prado appreciates every member of his team and what they bring to the group.

“Braxton Meier is someone that I enjoy practicing against,” he said. “He’s like a brother to me. We have the type of chemistry that coaches and players work their whole careers for. Hollin Barnes, our quarterback, and he probably does not always get the credit he deserves. He is what keeps our offense running  and a lot of the time people just focus on the flaws. Our lineman are the best, no doubt.”

Wearing the Tecumseh uniform and school colors when he is out on the field is something that is special to Kadyn and he does not take it for granted.

“It means the world to be able to represent our school and community when I play,” he said. “We have the best community in the world. The best part about it all is being a role model for the kids.”
