Bridge Creek High School and junior Jayden Chidester have enjoyed a solid season on the diamond this year. As the regular season comes to a close, Bridge Creek softball is pushing the 20-win mark. Players like Jayden Chidester have played a big role in making this a great season.
“I love the way my teammates never fail to pick each other up on a bad day. We have our ups and downs but never fail to find the bright side of a situation,” Chidester said. “We always make sure to get the atmosphere right when we get in the bus, we play music and have a good time.”
The junior has played softball for 13 years and has made some great memories this season with her teammates. Memories she will carry with her to the next level.
“My season has gone pretty good, as always there are highs and lows, but highs outweigh the lows,” Chidester said. “After I graduate, I plan on playing softball in college and majoring in Kinesiology and then getting my Athletic Trainers Certificate to become an athletic trainer.”
Chidester also serves as the Executive Secretary on the Student Council. Chidester said she enjoys her classes and her teacher at BCHS.
“My favorite teacher is Ms. Johnson, she never failed to put a smile on my face and isn’t afraid to tell me the truth.
In her free time, Chidester said she enjoys shopping and spending time with friends and family. One family member has made a big impact in her life, on and off the field.
“The biggest influence in my life has been my mother. She has confidence in me when no one else does, including myself,” said Chidester.
