CARL ALBERT TITANS

BOYS

Coach: Jay Price

22-23 Record: 23-6Carl Albert head coach Jay Price, one of the state’s most tenured coaches with 21 years of experience on Post Rd., wants to bring the Gold Ball back to his place after finishing as runners-up in 2023. “We have several returning players from last year’s state runner-up team,” Price said. “We are hoping to bring along some younger players who can helps us get an opportunity to go deep into the playoffs again.” After graduating Jordan England to Northern Oklahoma College–Enid, Price will need Quincy Hopkins (6-4, Sr.) to have a big year again. He was the engine in Carl Albert’s 2023 run, but in 2024, he may need to be the wheel, too. “Quincy is a solid athlete with a college-style body. I think he has an opportunity to play at the collegiate level and could grow into a very productive college player,” Price said. “He is a four-year member of our program and has really grown as a player and as a young man. He is maturing into the leadership role that we expect from him.

Quincy is a dynamic player on the court, and we are looking to rely on him heavily this season.” Carl Albert supporters should familiarize themselves with Steven Anderson (5-10, So.). “Steven has a bright future for us,” Price said. “We are looking for him to mature this season into a solid varsity player for us who can score and defend at the varsity level.” Hutch Russell (5-10, Sr.), a Seminole State baseball commit, will be an integral piece to Price’s roster this year. “Hutch is a guy who does all the stuff. He is a great leader, mentor and teammate,” Price said. “He will take a charge, cheer for his teammates, hit a big shot and encourage someone else when they need it. He is a very vital part of our team and program.” The Titans will play in the Mustang Tournament on Dec. 28-30, the ConocoPhillips/Arvest Invitational in Bartlesville on Jan. 4-6 and the Titan Classic on Jan. 18-20
