Carl Albert baseball returns all but three starters from its 2022 state tournament team this spring.

“We return our entire infield and most all of our pitching staff,” Carl Albert head coach Ryan Whiteley said. “We will replace two outfielders but have a lot of guys competing for those jobs. The strength for us this year will be our depth in our roster.”

Junior pitcher Kash Ferris, an Oklahoma State commit, will be a significant contributor to Carl Albert’s efforts.

“We also plan on using Kash in the outfield and look for him to be a big contributor offensively for us,” Whiteley said. “We return most of our starters from last year’s team, and it’s hard to pick just one MCP right now because we have a lot of key guys returning in the lineup and on the mound.

Albeit young, sophomore Declan Murphy is one of those pitchers upon whom the Titans could rely heavily.

“He [Murphy] throws upper 80s and has touched 90. He can also be used as a shortstop or outfielder,” Whiteley said. “We look for him to have a good season offensively for us, as well.”

Other returning players anticipated to make an impact are Hutch Russell, Tanner Norman, Samuel Gonzalez, Brodie Hinson, Chase Lashley, Mason Trotter and Jackson Fixico.
