Carl Albert Softball Top 100 Spotlight – Ausha Moore – Presented by Big Show Productions

Ausha Moore is a junior at Carl Albert and plays shortstop and third base for the Lady Titans, competes for the Carl Albert basketball team, and plays on the Oklahoma Pure softball team.

For Moore -a VYPE Top 100 athlete- one of her best attributes, and key to being a good teammate starts with simply having fun.

“I’m always trying to cheer my team on by being each and every one’s number one fan no matter how my game is going,” Moore said. “I try to just free myself up and have fun because you never know when your last game might be. One thing I have been trying to improve is my mental game. Iit doesn’t matter how good you are individually if you don’t have the attitude, or mindset to pull your team together and make sure all your boxes are checked.”

Going into her  junior year, Moore has experienced some memorable moments on the diamond with the Lady Titans.

“My favorite memory on the field is when we came back to win from a six run deficit against piedmont last year in the pink out game with our entire student body there. That game still gives me chills,” Moore said. “I just loved the fact that we leaned on each-other all the way to the end.”

Off the field Moore and her teammates like to have fun by making TikToks together and try to make a new, unique one every day.

As an upperclassman Moore is going to be asked to take on more of a leadership role within the Carl Albert lineup this year.

“Good leaders are always making sure your teammates are good on and off the field,” Moore said. “Giving effort and not trying to be perfect by any means, and being OK with messing up. Sometimes people think just because you are considered a leader you have to do it all by yourself, leaning on your teammates is something that I firmly believe in.”

When asked what her personal and team goals were for the season, Moore had this to say:

“I want to win state,” Moore said. “I definitely feel like we have what it takes and I want to pull it all the way through this year. Our coaching staff has really pushed us this year and we are just getting started. As an individual… I mean awards and stuff are cool, but I just want the ring on my finger come October.”

As for inspirational figures, Moore has several people she looks up to as role models.

“My parents are definitely my role models, they have put me in a position to succeed in all aspects of life, when I become a mother of my own I can only aspire to be just half of what they are. I love them so much,” Moore said. “Someone that inspires me is Serena Williams, she is all about women empowerment and is so confident in herself. She’s more than just an athlete.”

After high school Moore plans on playing collegiate softball and earning a degree in either sports medicine or criminal justice and also wants to pursue her dream of becoming a Division I softball coach.

“I want to use softball as a small avenue to help develop young girls and change their lives like coaches in my life have done so with me,” Moore said.
