Jones’ Jett Farmer Athlete Spotlight Presented by Candace Cunningham Shelter Insurance

In the heart of Jones High School’s baseball diamond, senior standout Jett Farmer is more than just a player; he’s an athlete to be reckoned with, embodying dedication, family values and a thirst for improvement.

Guided by the unwavering support of his parents and the exemplary work ethic of his brother, Jett draws inspiration from those closest to him. “My biggest influences are my parents; they show up for my family every day.”

Reflecting on impactful teachers, Jett tips his hat to Mrs. Lynn, whose positive attitude and passion for teaching left a lasting impression. “She came to class every day with a good attitude and made learning fun. She loved what she did and was very helpful.”

For Jett, success in baseball requires more than just talent. “It has taken a lot, staying after practice, getting extra hacks in and putting in the work when no one is watching,” he acknowledged.

The thrill of hitting three home runs in three regional games and earning a spot in the Oklahoma State Playoff games not once, but twice, stands out as a crowning achievement in Jett’s high school baseball career.

Driven by an innate desire to win, Jett’s passion for the game transcends the opponent. “I just love to win. No matter who steps on the field, I just want to win!”

Acknowledging the competitiveness within the team during inter-squad matches, Jett highlights teammate Jacob Standifer as an unsung hero. “He shows up every day with a good attitude and works hard. He will be successful,” Jett noted.

Beyond the baseball field, Jett extends his leadership skills to involvement in leadership and student council, showcasing a commitment to both his team and his broader school community.

Playing for Jones High School means more than just competing; it’s about making the tight-knit community proud. “Jones is a very small community and full of supportive people. We like making them proud and giving them something to be proud of.”

As he looks toward the future, Jett already has his sights set on Seminole State College, where he will continue his baseball journey. A heartfelt shoutout goes to the coaching staff, led by coach Luke Yost, for their invaluable support and mentorship. “Couldn’t ask for a better head coach,” Jett expressed, reflecting on the impactful guidance he has received throughout his high school career.
