Norman North Timberwolves Boys Basketball Preview – Presented By Landers Auto Group

The Norman North Timberwolves and fifth year head coach Kellen McCoy are coming off a 17-9 season and look to continue their success this year. Leading the way for the Timberwolves is Ben Moser, a skilled guard/forward combo player that can get buckets at will. Moser has the size, speed, and athleticism to affect every game. Moser has quick feet and controls his body well when attacking the basket. He is able to stay in front of opponents and force difficult shots without fouling. He and Nate Lancaster, a playmaking guard, will be the driving force behind the Timberwolves this season. Lancaster has a quick first step, good handles, and great

court vision. He has the ability to drive the ball into the lane or kick it out to open shooters on the perimeter. McCoy and the Timberwolves will look to be patient on offense and spread the floor and get their shooters into open space through movement and off ball screens. On defense they want to play aggressively and force turnovers to create easy fastbreak transition opportunities. When possible, they will look to slow down their opponents and force teams into taking contested numpers and attack the glass to not allow second chance scoring opportunities. The Timberwolves kick off the season on the road against Edmond North before co-hosting the early season Joe Lawson Tournament in December. Joining McCoy on the coaching staff is Rory Hamilton, Billy Barnard, George Edwards, and Ronnie Collina.
