“Team Means Everything To Me” – Southmoore Soccer Player Paicer Zehr – Presented By Raising Cane’s

By Ember McElrath
Senior soccer player for Southmoore High School, Paicer Zehr, has been playing soccer since he was five years old.

“My older brothers were into soccer before me so naturally I just wanted to follow them and play soccer as well,” Paicer said. Not only does he love the game, but he truly enjoys the people he gets to play with.

“My team means everything to me,” Paicer said. “These guys are my best friends and I know that every time I step out on the field with them, they are going to put everything on the line for myself and each other.” The team means the world to Paicer, but he also means a lot to his team and coaches.

“Paicer is our captain and a kid who bleeds navy and gold.,” said his coach. “He does the right things for the right reasons all the time and leads by example daily. We’re asking a lot of him this year in his new role as a senior captain, but he’s stepped up and accepted the challenge. A great kid from a great family and someone who I am excited to see go full speed this season.”

Being involved in soccer the majority of his life there are so many things that Paicer loves about it, but his favorite part is the people.

“My favorite part of soccer is getting the opportunity to build bonds with people,” said Paicer. “Some of my closest friends in my life have come from soccer, and I am extremely grateful for it.”

Paicer has his goals set high for this season.

“My goal for this year is to make the playoffs,” Paicer said. “This is one of the most talented teams Southmoore has seen and I really believe that we can go a long way this year.”

With his goals set high sometimes nerves can creep in, but he has a system when they do.

“I just remember that I have a job to do while I am on the field,” Paicer said. “I know that my team has my back and will always work hard to get our job done.” When he is not busy on the soccer field he enjoys going fishing and spending time with his family.
