Since the eighth grade, Chason Brassfield has competed in track and field. This season Brassfield is competing in the 110 and 300-hurdles. Track is the only sport Brassfield competes in, and he loves being on the team and representing the Jaguars. 

“I do not play any other sports. I just do track on and off season. Coach Kappelle has been probably the biggest influence in my life. He has taught me many things but what I remember most is “always win,” the now motto of Westmoore track and field,” said Brassfield. 

Being part of the Westmoore family is more than just competing in track. 

“As a student-athlete I enjoy every learning opportunity I am given. Being an athlete has improved my listening and learning which has bettered me as a student,” said Brassfield. 

As for his teammates, Brassfield said they bring something to the team. 

“Alex Le as the toughest. Isaac Chavez keeps everybody laughing, and Kolton Bennet is probably the most serious,” said Brassfield. 

Once his days in high school come to an end, Brassfield would like to work in the automotive industry. 

“I want to open my own business in the automotive space. In my free time I work on vehicles. If it be a car a lawnmower or any other vehicle I fix them, improve them, detail them, or take them apart to figure out how they work,” said Brassfield.
