Back on Track with Del City’s Jayliah Jones – Presented by Ben Sexton Shelter Insurance

Jayliah Jones

Del City High School

Del City High School’s Jayliah Jones has run track for two years, is excited to represent the Eagles on and off the track.

This season, Jones will compete in several events including the relays.

“I compete in the 4×100, 4×200, 4×400, and long jump,” said Jones.

Jones prefers talking about her teammates over herself.

“I get a family out of our Del City track team, and I get a good discipline. My teammate Jaikia Johnson has had a big impact on me not for just track but in my life she like the big sister I’ve always needed,” said Jones. “Our toughest member is Kelan, me and Jaikia Johnson keeps the team laughing, the most serious is Kelan.

Track is the focus for Jones, and she hopes to one day compete at the next level.

“I want to work for an offer in track for college, also want to be a DHS case worker,” said Jones.

Jones said she gets inspiration from Sha’Carri Richardson, a USA track star.
