Del City baseball player Blake Barker spoke to VYPE in a recent interview.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

My personal goals for this year is to get stronger faster.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory is when I hit a lead off double in the championship game then my teammate laid down a bunt got me to 3rd then I stole home to win the game and playing in the state championship game for football.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

The teammate that left the biggest impression on me in George Gouldsby he always push’s me to be the best player I can be he helps me get my head back on straight when I strikeout or miss a ball.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite part about being on this team is the coach’s playing ball and being with my brothers that I grew up playing with everyday.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

My sport has taught me CDEPT which is commitment discipline effort pride and toughness what ever you do in life you have to be committed you have to have discipline show effort have pride in what you do and have toughness.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

Don’t leave no regrets when you walk off the field.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

The people that inspire me is my family I push myself to the limit everyday everything I do is for them.
