Ryleigh Law

North Rock Creek High School

North Rock Creek High School junior Ryleigh Law is a member of the varsity volleyball team and the FFA chapter, which she joined during her first year of high school.

“I became an FFA member freshman year. I had wanted to be involved in FFA because it just looked fun and seemed like something that could help lead me in the right direction for the career path I want to take. My ag teacher did a really great job of making everyone feel welcomed, included, and seen. He always found something that could interest unsure members,” said Law.

Like many of her peers, Law has found many things about FFA to be enjoyable including livestock judging.

“What I love most about FFA is the closeness with your chapter members, the amount of friendships you can make at any event you go to, and the ability to get to do something that I love with people who support me and push me to do my best at whatever I may be trying to accomplish. In my chapter, I am involved in the Vet Med team which I was a part of starting, cattle grading, and horse judging. Freshman year, I showed a steer and was very active in milk quality and products too,” said Law.

Also a member of National Honor Society, Law said anyone interested in becoming an FFA member should do it.

“Advice that I would give to someone considering FFA would be the just do it because what do you have to lose. Be as active and involved within your chapter as you can be, and I promise you will be inspired and pushed to do your very best in all aspects of life not just in your event,” said Law. “My ag teacher, Mr. Davis, has been a big influence in my life. He has pushed me to do things that I did not want to do but I ended up loving. He has made me get out of my comfort zone, make new friends from other schools, and not be so dependent on my best friend’s company to do anything.”

As a member of the volleyball team, Law said the competitiveness, character building lessons and the lifelong friends is what she loves the most.

“What I love most about the volleyball program is how competitive it is. It strives for sportsmanship and good character rather than just winning. It builds up confidence and helps create lifelong relationships. What I love most about my teammates is how they’re always there to listen whenever you need them. They are so encouraging and always have something good to say no matter how you feel,” said Law.

After high school Law said she would like to go to Oklahoma State University and study animal sciences and work towards becoming a veterinarian.
