Austin Parker

Epic Charter School

If your finger is on the pulse of high school baseball in Oklahoma, chances are you have come across Austin Parker. Parker plays for the Oklahoma City Broncos, a homeschool team with plenty of talent.

Parker is a senior and has played baseball for over 16 years of his young life. Being part of the Broncos baseball team and Epic Charter School has been a great experience.

“What I love most about being a student with Epic charter is the ability to do my work at any point throughout the day,” said Parker.

Parker is a four-year starter playing centerfield and pitcher. When it comes to stats, Parker has an impressive list. His fastball can hit over 90 MPH with an exit velocity of 96 MPH. At the plate, Parker has a career .434 batting average with 199 hits, 34 doubles, 8 triples and 9 homeruns. This season the senior will add to his 80 RBIs and 27 walks to only 30 strikeouts. All while carrying a 3.97 GPA.

For Parker, being around his teammates and playing the game is his comfort zone. Parker is quick to talk about his teammates and what they mean to him and the overall success of the Broncos.

“What I love most about my teammates is the brotherhood we share, any one of us would die for the other. Teammates you should look for this season are, Devin Page, Carter Arney, James Skelly, and Luke Johnston,” said Parker.

Coming into the new season, Parker said he’s continued to work hard in the offseason to improve in certain areas such as hit placement.

“The area that most improved in my game this season is the ability to hit the ball to every part of the field,” said Parker.

The future is bright for Parker. The senior is headed to college next fall where he will continue his education and playing career.

“After I graduate, I plan to attend Howard College in Big Spring, Texas to continue my baseball career,” said Parker.

In his free time, Parker enjoys spending time with friends and working on his baseball skills. His favorite subject in school is English and his favorite in MLB is Bryce Harper.
