Capitol Hill Redwolves 2023 Football Team Preview – Presented by Eskridge Honda

CAPITOL HILL REDWOLVES

Coach: CLAY SIZEMORE

1-9

OFFENSE

The Redwolves will be a young but growing team. Head coach Clay Sizemore has been pleased by changes in team culture and work ethic ahead of the fall season. The offense will be multiple in nature with an air raid style of attack based out of the option. It returns six starters from last year. Peyton Hunt (5-10, 170, Jr.) will quarterback the team with a myriad of weapons at his disposal, including the talented Michael Hunt (5-10, 179, Jr.) at receiver and Brian Hinds (6-0, 200, Sr.) at H-Back. Matthew Dixon (5-9, 180, Jr.) will have great responsibility as the Redwolves’ feature back this fall. Christian Scott (5-10, 260, Jr.) is the team’s veteran offensive lineman and will anchor the hogs at center.

DEFENSE

The Redwolves will base out of the 3-3 stack and aim to be “sound.” Sizemore has the secondary in split field coverage with rule-based adjustments. At linebacker, Mason Shomaker (5-10, 190, So.) is one of the team’s young but talented defenders, while Hinds brings maturity and experience to the linebacking corps. On Hinds, Sizemore said “he is a leader on and off the field. He has a high work ethic and is great both on the field and in the classroom. We are expecting big things from Brian this year.” In its secondary, Capitol Hill has high hopes for another young player in Cesar Ramirez (5-10, 175, So.). Sizemore likes Ramirez’ intelligence and versatility, as he already displays leadership in making pre-snap adjustments.
