With a regular season and a playoff win over Westmoore, Santa Fe has now won four in a row over the Jaguars. Westmoore still holds the all-time series lead 9-6.

Wide receiver Talyn Shettron is used to putting up big numbers on offense, but his two fourth quarter interceptions sealed a 21-14 semifinals win over Union.

OFFENSE

After a state runner-up season in 2020, the Edmond Santa Fe Wolves look to build on their success. Going into his sixth season as head coach for the Wolves, Kyle White is very confident in his players and trusts they’ll make another run at a championship. “We have a lot of great players returning and strong young players looking to step into roles. We are excited about our future and what this season brings,” White said. The Wolves averaged an unreal 40.4 points per game last year and look to continue this in the upcoming season. The Wolves are returning six players from last year’s offense. One player that coach White is extremely excited for is Tabry Shettron (6-4, 220, Sr.). Tabry Shettron plays tight end for Santa Fe and brought in over 175 yards and six touchdowns. “Big, athletic tight end that is still reaching his potential. The sky is the limit for him,” White said. Talyn Shettron (6-3, 185, Sr.) comes in at receiver, and recorded over 1,000 yards and 14 touchdowns. An experiencd quarterback is always a plus, and the Wolves have just that. Scott Pfieffer (6-3, 180, Sr.) led the Santa Fe to the title game a season ago, and recorded 2,374 yards, 29 touchdowns, and had a 68 percent completion percentage. Two players to watch for on the line are Jon Ashford (6-5, 300, Jr.) and Joey Banks (6-0, 250, Sr.). With their size and ability, they have a lot of potential to add to this electrifying Wolves offense. Coach White and his staff expect to run a spread offense. Their philosophy is to keep it simple while playing physical and executing at a high level.

DEFENSE

Like their offense, Santa Fe brings back six starters from last year’s team. They plan on running a 4-2 base formation, playing physical and fast. Leading the way on defense is linebacker Chris Fitzpatrick (6-1, 210, Jr.). Fitzpatrick leads all returnees with 99 tackles and two interceptions from a year ago. Also lining up at the linebacker position is Dylan Rodgers (5-11, 200, Sr.) who helped bring in 42 tackles and added in an interception as well last season. In the secondary, Tyler Lewis (5-10, 170, Sr.) looks to play the safety position.  Lewis had a team leading five passes broken up, and also added 52 tackles to his successful junior season campaign. On the defensive line, the Wolves look to bring back Damon Harvey (5-11, 250, Sr.) and Zane Birts (6-0, 250, Sr.). Harvey had 45 tackles a season ago, along with two sacks. Birts had similar numbers, recording 39 tackles and three sacks. Look for the Wolves to use their experience to their advantage on defense.
